Does Astrology work?

So what makes anyone think that astrology works? If astrology could be proven statistically, then it would have happened years ago. Hard core science is still a ways off from finding anything to study. Why are astrologers convinced it works, and many non-astrologers that it doesn't?

Obviously, one needs an open mind, and a desire to separate fact from fiction. Unfortunately, the task is not simple nor easy. One must first learn the tenets of astrology, and then work with it over many years. There really is no other way. It must be lived and experienced.

One indicator that astrology works is by doing charts for other people. Getting feedback is a wonderful way of learning whether you're on target or not. Many astrologers check their own aspects into the future, and then watch as their life unfolds. One would expect a continuity between the aspects and future conditions. The problem here is asking: are we fulfilling our own expectations?

Although these methods can be significant, the one that works best for me is looking back in retrospect at what has already happened. To narrow the parameters down to something more workable, I chose the planet Saturn because of its distinctive qualities, and orbital characteristics. Because past events cannot be manipulated, and the length of Saturn's influence easily established, it only takes patience and time to view the results as they have already unfolded. Of course, enduring a Saturn transit in the present is often proof enough of its effect.

It has often been noted that researchers setting out to disprove astrology have themselves become astrologers. Astrology is not something to debate. You don't have to convince anyone that astrology works. Astrology is not necessary to live a happy and successful life, but those that wish to study astrology should'nt be hounded by critics that have never taken the time to find out for themselves, and it's none of their business anyway.
