THE PHILOSOPHY OF ASTROLOGY

By JohnK Hammelton

CONCLUSION

What I have presented here represents fundamental ideas I've had for many years, and the need to express them philosophically, and make them available for others to ponder. Because this is a work in progress, nor may it ever be complete, I can now take time to work on other aspects of the philosophy of astrology. I realize that certain ideas need clarification, and other areas greater emphasis. Future editions should reflect the search for a complete and comprehensive study.

My interest in astrology led me to study philosophy in school, especially Plotinus. His ideas made a strong impression on me at the time, and I conceived the notion that Plotinus' system could support astrological thought, although I had to wait for an opportunity to speak at an astrology convention to wed Plotinus and modern cosmology. I lay my ideas away for many years only to have them pursue me and demand a final accounting. While this may not be final, I hope it stands as the ultimate beginning.

It is with an open mind that inquiry leads to discovery. I am ready to accept the facts of nature, and to modify my ideas as they become known. If what I say can be shown in error, then I will be the first to reject it. We all need to believe in something; whether these ideas work or not, until further notice, I leave up to you.
