Q. How would you tell an eight year old about God, creation, and stars?
A. Probably something like this:

Questions From An Eight Year Old. . . :

           What is God?

God is the force and power that made our world, and through His Idea of creation brought all life into existence.

           Where does God live?

God built his home out of building blocks we call matter, and harnessed the energy from it to do his work. God resides in the sun, and lives very far away, but shines down on us everyday.

           Can we see God?

Yes, and you feel His warmth too. But God is best seen in the grass, trees, butterflys, and all the other living things, including you. But don't look directly at God, or you might hurt your eyes.

           Can we talk to God?

Yes, through prayer, but angels help carry your messages to God; their job is to keep an eye out for you, and help you when they can.

Why does God let people do bad things?

God made us to be free, like Himself. Evil can only live in the heart and soul; when love fills your heart, there is no room for evil. Always think good thoughts, and be kind to everyone; this is all God ever wants.

           Are we like God?

Very much so, but it might be better to think that God is more like us. Think of God as attached to the sun, like we are attached to our bodies. God has great power, and an even greater mind, but he doesn't need arms or legs like we do. We can come and go as we please, but God stays in heaven right where He belongs.

Is there a heaven when we die?

Oh yes, there was a heaven before everything else. You came down from heaven into your body when you were born; when your body has finished its work here, then you will go back to heaven. That is your real home, think of yourself as a visitor on Earth learning many lessons to take back with you when you go.

Did God make all the stars?

No no. God is a star. Life can only come from a star. When you look up at night into the sky, you see many stars; they shine and twinkle with the joy of creation. You are a part of everything you see throughout the great Cosmos; God has passed His crown to you, because in you is His glory.
