Ancient cards of the Tarot

It's said that the shuffling of the cards is the earth, and the pattering of the cards is the rain, and the beating of the cards is the wind, and the pointing of the cards is the fire. That's of the four suits. But the Greater Trumps, it's said, are the meaning of all process and the measure of the everlasting dance.--Charles Williams, The Greater Trumps

"The True Tarot is Symbolism: It speaks a language that arises from the collective mind of Man. Given an understanding of the inner meaning of the symbols, the cards yield, on the highest plane, mystic powers and esoteric wisdom.

The origins of the Tarot are so veiled in the mists of time that it is only natural for myths and legends to have grown up--particularly around the Major Arcana. Superstition, flights of fancy, and speculation have added their own patterns to the rich and colorful tapestry of Tarot lore and, curiously enough, have only deepened its aura of magic and mystery.

Even though the time and place of the Tarot's genesis are not firmly established, and even though the Tarot has gone through many transmutations over the centuries, it survives serenely, elusive at times but inspiring, a living demonstration of the truth 'that there are more things in heaven and earth . . . . than are dreamt of' in most people's philosophies."--Eden Gray

One of my early problems was charging people for Tarot readings as I felt that giving was more important than receiving. One solution is not charge anything at all, but then I'd be over-whelmed and under compensated. So I work on a donation basis. If you don't like the reading, then there's no charge; you can put your own value on it, and pay accordingly. But this creates conditions with limitations. By far the best readings involve reader and querent present together in a positive environment. Another limiting condition is time; I don't have much of it, and making connections can be difficult. Needless to say, I don't do very many readings, but Tarot is still something I have much love and respect for. You're welcome to contact me.
